Studio LV designs restaurants, bars, cafés and fine-dining rooms from our studio in Milan. Restaurant interior design is where atmosphere and operations meet: the room has to feel like somewhere people want to stay, and it has to serve a full house without the service breaking down.
What we design
- Dining rooms and fine-dining spaces — seating plans, covers, acoustics, lighting scenes for lunch and dinner
- Bars and counters — the working side and the guest side of the counter, designed together
- Cafés, bakeries, pastry shops and ice-cream shops — display, queueing and take-away flow
- Outdoor terraces and dehors — furniture and materials that survive weather and daily handling
- Service areas — pass, dish return, stores and staff routes that keep the room calm
Design that respects the service
Before we draw, we ask how the restaurant will actually run: the menu, the number of covers, the turn times, how many staff work the floor, where deliveries arrive. Those answers decide the seating density, the distance between the pass and the furthest table, the width of the aisles and where the stations sit.
Only then does the room become a design question — materials, lighting temperature, colour, custom furniture, the details a guest photographs without knowing why.
Front of house and kitchen, designed together
Most restaurant problems begin at the border between the dining room and the kitchen. Studio LV designs the front of house and works with VME Group, our professional kitchen division, on the back of house — so the pass, the extraction, the dish return and the storage are planned with the room, not after it.

Common questions
Do you work on small independent restaurants?
Yes. Scope matters more than size: sometimes we deliver the whole project, sometimes only the concept, the FF&E package or the site supervision.
Can you work on a restaurant that is already open?
Yes — refurbishments are planned in phases so the venue can keep trading, or around a defined closure window.
Do you work outside Italy?
We do. Our team has worked on projects across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia, adapting layouts and materials to local climate, regulations and service culture.
Talk to us about your restaurant — tell us the city, the covers and the concept, and we will tell you how we would start.
